The Bandits Baseball Club Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame honours Bandits players who have made a significant and on going contribution as players to the club.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for consideration, a player must meet one or more of the following ‘minimum automatic qualifying criteria’:
- Played at least 500 senior games for the Bandits Baseball Club and/or Wests Baseball Club
- Played at least 350 first grade for the Bandits Baseball Club and/or Wests Baseball Club
- Played at least 20 senior seasons for Bandits Baseball Club and/or Wests Baseball Club (with at least 10 games per season – where records are available)
In addition to meeting one of the above, the nominee must be at least 35 years old at the time of the nomination
In addition to the above criteria the following may be used where a nominee has not met the above ‘minimum automatic qualifying criteria’:
- Distinguished professional career
- Australian senior team member (eg Olympic; World Baseball Classic; Provincial Cup etc)
- Other significant playing achievements eg multiple ACT Baseball Association MVP awards, multiple Club MVP or other significant awards etc
- Accepted into the ACT Baseball Association Players Hall of Fame
Note: Playing ‘awards’ alone are not significant enough for nomination into Hall of Fame
Nominations
- Any current member of the Bandits Baseball Club (eg Hall of Fame, Life Member, playing member etc) may nominate a person or persons to be considered for the Bandits Baseball Club Hall of Fame
- Nominations for Hall of Fame must be signed by at least 2 of those listed above
- Nominations must be received by the Bandits Baseball Club in writing prior to the Annual General Meeting
Judging
- Hall of Fame acceptance will be determined by a vote of existing Hall of Fame Members provided:
- the nomination is received prior to the Annual General Meeting
- the nominee has met the criteria as listed above
- the nominee is at least 35 years old
- the nominee receives a majority of the eligible votes
- the nominee accepts the nomination
- No more than two Hall of Fame nominations may be considered at any Annual General Meeting, and where more than two (2) nominations are received the Club Executive and/or Committee will determine by ballot those two (2) persons to be nominated as a Hall of Fame nominee.
- Persons who were nominated, but not accepted into the Hall of Fame, may continue to be nominated in future years.
